There are high-clearance, rocky sections within the first mile. It
becomes easier after that with some narrow rocky sections at the
top.

Head south from Ouray ano US 550 for 3.7 miles. Watch for a tight
curve to the left at an overlook. The start of the passs is a wide road
to the left after that and is well marked.
