Max Chill Water Bottles |
The Plan: A two hour road bike ride with one MaxChill bottle and one standard, garden variety, water bottle (WB). Each bottle was filled with tap water just prior to riding. It was not our intention to take the temperature of the water during the ride, but to compare the quality of the beverages inside the two bottles. Each bottle was sampled every 20 minutes. The Results: It was an 80 - 85ยบ day in the foothills of Denver. The difference between the two drinks was noticed at the first 20 minute sample. The drink in the standard WB was already getting warm, while the drink in the MaxChill was the same temp if not colder. After one hour (halfway), The MaxChill was still cool, refreshing, great tasting. The water in the WB on the other hand was warm, plastic tasting, and barely functional. By the end of the ride (1 hr :45 min), the MaxChill water was still the same temperature as it was the majority of the ride (actually colder than when it came out of the tap) and very pleasant to drink. The WB water was hot and nasty tasting to the point where one would forego the drink knowing that the finish was not far off. Conclusion: A great product for the money. It can be used biking, blading, running, hiking etc. Until now we have accepted the fact that our water will taste like hot plastic, but for a few extra dollars that is no longer true. The cool drink was surprisingly much more refreshing and enjoyable.
