| Trail Report |
| Starting from the intersection of Kipling and Morrison Rd travel south a few blocks and catch the Bear Creek bike path. Head east on the trail passing under Wadsworth. After emerging from under Wadsworth and crossing a bridge leave the bike path and ride on Dartmarth Ave. The bike path between Wads and Sheridan is extremely rough and not enjoyable on a road bike (or blades for that matter). Pass through one stop sign. The roads eventually comes to a King Sooper, get back on the bike path at this point which travels behind the King Sooper and along Bear Creek. The bike path eventually travels along a golf course. Other trails will merge with bear creek (always bare left on the merge to head downtown). Just pass the golf course, you'll merge with the Platt River Bike path. At this point the trail goes under Hampden (285) and heads north. Continuing north, you'll pass another golf course, Evens Ave, and eventually end up at the smoke stacks. You'll have to cross the street here. The bike path continues directly across the street. At this point you are only a few miles from downtown (Coors Field). Continue north, you may encounter a detour due to the construction at the new Mile High Stadium. Follow the signs as required. Eventually you'll pass Elitch Garden and arrive at Confluence Park. Head south and take the second exit (Wynkoop St.) to get to Coors Field. Ride on Wynkoop straight to Coors Field. This trail is an easy ride, essentially downhill all the way to downtown. The path follows a creek the entire way, and only two street crossings are required (except any detours). At Confluence Park Cheery Creek Trail bike path merges and this is what you take to downtown. |
