| Trail Report |
| One of the most popular hikes in Colorado for several reasons. You can bag two peaks in one day, it's a beautiful hike and it's easy. Even if you don't make the peaks on this one, it is still an awesome hike. Green meadows and clear streams greet you at the trail head. The trail is well marked and worn. It is a gradual ascent west until you reach the base of the mountain where it will turn south. At this point the climb gets a little steeper and you leave treeline. From the summit descend your ascent route and cross the east face of Grays peak at the base to pick up the main trail that was hike up. Mountain sheep are commonly sited and may approach people unprovoked (refrain from feeding them). Start early and expect crowds during the mid-day. |
