Boarding Tips for the Beginner

Snowboards need regular waxing!
Your board needs to be waxed at least every second day on the snow. Not only will your board run faster, but wax actually helps to PROTECT the base from the abrasion caused by the snow.
Try and check that your binding screws are TIGHT every day that you ride.
Do NOT use "Loc Tite" on your binding screws!
Many shops apply a small amount of nail polish to the screw's threads, allow it to dry, and Presto the screw stays in place!
So, you paid extra for that super light weight board?
Why do you ride around with 2 pounds of snow stuck to the top of your board?
Next time you wax the bottom of your board, apply a thin coat of furniture polish to the TOP to keep the snow from sticking to it. It really works!
If you transport your board in the bed of a pickup truck, you probably know that it slides around on turns and stops.
Try wrapping a rubber bungie cord around each end of the board. The rubber then becomes the contact point between the bottom side of the board and the pickup bed. The board stops sliding around. Total cost: about $2.50. (You may want to replace the s-hooks with a short piece of nonabrasive rope to prevent scratching the top side of your board.)
